President, Riggit Services Inc.
Rick is a 35-year veteran of the special event industry and one of BC’s most highly acclaimed production managers and technical directors. Rick worked on most of Western Canada’s biggest sporting, corporate and special events.
Rick’s expertise as a Production Manager and Technical Director was forged through years of work as a technician involving all aspects of the industry including: rigging, lighting, audio, AV, staging, scaffolding, draperies, carpentry, special effects, and electrical distribution. He first started working as a rigger in 1986 for Allset Design, the Official Supplier to the VCC at that time, and has since been a key player in some of the most interesting and technically complex projects over the history of the VCC. After traveling North America doing large-scale events Rick came back to Vancouver to change the way rigging was being done in his hometown by creating Riggit Services Inc. Rick’s crowning achievement is his work designing and managing all rigging for the 2010 Winter Olympics Opening and Closing Ceremonies as well as several other venues in Vancouver.
